Mission: Dear Parents, “We are a community, disciples of Christ, celebrating our faith in the Roman Catholic tradition. Formed in God's image and inspired by the Holy Spirit, we are called through Baptism to know, love and serve God. Nourished by Word and Eucharist we strive to advance God's kingdom, through sacrament and service to others”.
At La Purisima Concepcion Catholic Church we place great emphasis on teaching people of all ages the “Good News" through lived Christian experience, scripture, tradition, and the celebration of the Eucharist. This is no easy task in the present age where life is bombarded with busy schedules, after school programs, entertainment, sports, and school studies; hence, sometimes the effort to learn more about one's faith can easily get pushed to the bottom of priorities of both parents and children.
As a parish family, our primary concern is to provide updated and contemporary knowledge about God and the teachings of the Catholic faith to our children, yet, to stress the fact that we also shape the moral character of both student and teacher so that all at La Purisima Concepcion can articulate their faith in a practical manner. We ask God's blessing for the challenges that await us through a new year of religious education.

Overview
The Religious Education program at La Purísima Concepción Catholic Church has classes for children in all grade levels.
The Religious Education program uses textbooks that have been reviewed by the Los Angeles Archdiocesan Office of Religious Education and are in conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church (2nd Edition, 1997) and comply with guidelines stated in the National Catechetical Directory(2005). Copies of all textbooks used in our program are available for parent review.
The entire body of Catholic doctrine is not conveyed in any single year, but each year of religious education builds on those that preceded and leads to what follows, according to the child's level of understanding.
Registration for Religious Education classes takes place in July/August for all students. Registration closes the week classes begin for those children preparing to receive a sacrament. Registration paperwork is accepted throughout the school year for all other classes.
The fees for Religious Education classes are different for each class. The fees are used to cover the cost of textbooks, supplies used in the classroom and various activities throughout the year. Registration fees are nonrefundable. No one will be denied Religious Education for financial reasons. Contact the Religious Education Office to make confidential arrangements.
ALL paperwork must be completed AND all required certificates turned in by the first week of class.
